Melinda Cowen President/ Creative Director
Melinda Cowen earned Fine Art degrees from American University, Duke University, and a Masters in Visual Design from NC State University School of Design.

After working in various local ad agencies and design firms, she founded Cowen Design, Inc. to provide collateral and advertising, branding and corporate identity for various consumer and professional-service clients. Since its inception, Cowen Design, Inc. has received over 50 awards presented by major national, regional and local professional organizations. Melinda has been an active board member of the American Institute of Graphic Artists /Miami and the Advertising Federation of Greater Miami. Melinda’s work has been profiled in the book, “New Design: Miami” by Rockport Press.

Mary Ellen Harris-Gelberg Strategic Partner
From cereal and coffee, newspapers and shampoo, to banking and beer, Mary Ellen has experience with a full range of consumer products and services. She is responsible for many strategically sound, long-running advertising campaigns, including the “Gotcha” theme for Norelco shavers and the fencers for Capital Growth Management, and has also won numerous awards for creativity including a Clio. Mary Ellen began her career as a copywriter in New York, working on accounts including General Foods, Johnson & Johnson, Lipton, Citibank, Noxell (Noxzema and Cover Girl), The New York Daily News and JC Penney.

Her career with major multi-national agencies and clients included membership on an international problem-solving team, with assignments on Lever Brothers in Paris and Hamburg, and Diners Club in Frankfurt and London. Since moving to Florida, she has added health care, real estate and drop-dead gorgeous tropical resorts to her experience portfolio, and has developed a fondness for working barefoot.

Hagen Rottke
Along with Cowen Design’s full-service website design, web developer Hagen Rottke provides web programming, web hosting, search engine optimization (SEO), and internet marketing.

Rottke has worked for top Fortune 500 companies such as Lycos, Yahoo and World NetMedia and has broad knowledge and experience in the web world within defining and consolidating business requirements, strategic consulting, program management, product management, software development, Business Intelligence reporting, and working with distributed teams around the world.
